I was hoping maybe someone could tell me what O.P.I.A. local #3 was in the St. Louis area. I found an obituary from 1929 for someone who might be a relative and it said he was a member of O.P.I.A. Local #3.

I've tried to google it, but I'm having no luck coming up with what this organization/group or whatever it is, is. So I am asking those of you who live in the St. Louis area if you may know what it is or was.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the idea, but upon doing some research on the Office of Public Interest Advising, it doesn't look like the person in question was a part of that bceause it wasn't around in 1929.

I'm thinking it might be or was some type of organization or club like The Elks or The Moose Lodge, the Shriners, Knights of Columbus, or the VFW. Or it could have been something to do with a Union like for firefighters, or policemen or dock workers or truck drivers.

If the person in the obituary I found is the relative I think he is, he was at one time a doctor/druggist.

But Thank-you again for the idea.
