Most major airlines give their pilots iPads. But pilots who own small aircraft and don't have flying instruments, or just want a backup unit, can use an iPad.

I have one and love it. It's fast, easy to use and the keyboard is easier to type on than the iPhone (duh). Again, it depends on your daily life. I like to download the free books which makes doctor visits much more enjoyable.

The battery lasts approximately 10.5 hours. But you can charge it while driving or at home. I think there are some 400,000 apps available.

If I knew then what I know now, I would go without the 3G and get the 16GB version instead of spending $700 for 32GB + 3G. There are enough free wifi's around~even here in Oklahoma. I never buy cellular data anymore.

I imagine that the iPad 3 will have a lot of improvements, but my wife asked me for an iPad 2 as a Christmas present Since she never asks for anything, after my surprise I decided that I would be more than happy to buy one for her.

Thank you about your suggestion of a 16GB +G3 instead of a 32GB Wi-Fi. It makes a lot os sense to me.

Don't know about whatever wpa2 is' but the battery life is nothing short of phenomenal, and yes zagg has an extremely nice keyboard you can attach that also acts as a case. No USB.

I'm thinking about getting the iPad 2 mainly as a book reader. There's Nook for iPad and there are pdf readers for iPad. But I just don't know what else there are uses for an iPad 2, besides magazines, movies, games, ???

Maybe I should stop buy an Apple store.

I'd get myself the 64gb Wifi version, no 3G. 3G data plans are too expensive and not much gb capacity.

I already have 50gb of pdf books so I need a lot of gb's. Is there any way to expand the iPad capacity by an external usb drive powered off the iPad 2?

There's also Skype for iPad 2 so does that means you can do a video chat at McDonalds Wifi?

I just Googled iPad 3 rellease date and I guess I'll wait for the iPad 3. The iPad 2's sreen resolution stinks, iPad 3's will be -- The iPad 3's retina display is rumored to come in at 2048 by 1536 pixels...
... from: iPad 3 Release Date: Dual LED Light Bars Prepared for Retina Display, Christian News

Seems like there will be a lot of nice new features in the iPad 3. iPad 3 Release Date & Features

I will wait for it and maybe get the iPad 3. When the first iPad came out I said I had no use for it.

I wanted an HP touchpad when they had their firesale but even then the device would still be a redundant luxury. I would have just used it to mess around.

I can see uses for things and tablets like the iPad in lieu of an actual laptop, (especially for working with clients if you're a photographer) but for a reader, e-ink wins out and for any actual work a laptop/desktop is more comfortable/practical.

Plus my phone with a 4.3 inch screen is practically a tablet in itself so...

You can certainly do voice chat. I don't know how good the quality of a video chat would be, since that would require much more bandwidth.
