My Ipas working fine and then I could not get online. The modem is fine and all house computers are able to get online. I have checked Settings and everything looks good. However, when I click on the Internet, I see the word "private" at the bottom left and I have never seen that before. Can anyone help? Thanks.

The "Private" link is how you switch between private browsing and regular browsing. It has nothing to do with your inability to "connect to server". To solve that, try to go to the network you want in settings, and click the arrow to the right of the network name. Then select "forget this network". After that, go back and select it, and then put in the "password" (if necessary). If that doesn't work, try power cycling your router (unplug the power on it for 30 seconds and then re-plug it in. Wait a minute or two, then try connecting again. There might be other things you need to do, but these are where I start. In fact, I would suggest power cycling the router first.

I finally got it. I had already unplugged the router and checked all the settings. My Ipad indicated that I was connected but I could not get on. Ended up completely rebooting everything and it is now working.

use Ipad for 2 email accounts. one works fine; the other will not connect to server. rebooted modem; reset network settings; rebooted Ipad; deleted mail account and reinstalled it; still will not connect to server. Can go on safari and log on to mail account with not problems; but, that's a pain. any suggestions???

Some email accounts require specific settings for imap or pop3 and smtp, etc... Go to that email service and find out what the settings should be for an iPad, and then go to mail settings on the iPad and set it up. That's a guess. You may have done that already.
