Right now in Cape Coral, FL (SW coast) it is 88 degrees with humidity at 64% making it feel like 99. Tallahassee is 57 degrees with humidity at 70% for a feel like temperature of 57 degrees. We are having the hottest April on record. I hate it here and want to move to Tallahassee also. I want trees and four seasons without the threat of hurricanes every damn year. Family and two bouts of cancer keep me here (so far).

Florida's building codes are pretty stringent since Hurricane Andrew. Like was said, probably the biggest worry would be a tree falling on your house.

Do you work for the Chamber of Commerce by any chance?

Looked online at a couple of places yesterday. What can you tell me about Crawfordville and Midway? Seems most of the newly built houses in Crawfordville don't even have a garage and one of them appeared to back up to Hwy. 10. I don't necessarily have to be in Tallahassee proper but I don't want to live in the boonies with a bunch of rednecks driving pick-up trucks with the Confederate flag. My friends seem to think that's all I'm going to find in that area.

I only saw one in Tallahassee that I liked that was in my price range. It is on Deslin Dr., zip code 32305.

Most of Crawfordville and Midway will unfortunately be rednecks and Confederate flags.

Other than being in Tallahassee proper, that is pretty much what it is like up here.

That being said, I am in Monticello (about 25 miles east of Tallahassee) and love it here. It's truly kind of like a southern "Mayberry". There are a lot of people living here who relocated from south Florida.

Thank you for your response. I guess Midway and Crawfordville are out. Was in Monticello back in the 70's but I was only a teenager and I'm sure it's changed completely since then. I will look there.

Look in northwest tallahassee near lake Jackson, or gadsden county right over the county line off of highway 27. Havana is another option or just north of Tally off 27
