Can you get 20K raise in your current job in the next year? or two?

If not, you can re-locate yourself for a year for the new job and if you don't like it, move back?

Lake Mary is only 2 hr drive from St.Pete...

That would be a brutal commute twice a day in the rush hour traffic of St Pete,Tampa and Orlando, As $20K is substantial money you almost have to make the jump, i'd go check out the areas east of Orlando for a new place to live maybe the Daytona area...
On the other hand if you really like your setup at the moment maybe $20K isnt worth the effort involved in moving.

Altamonte Springs has nice areas and even Winter Park and you won't be to far from LM.

$20k would get me to move ASAP. Lucky you...

For some its not always about the money,i guess in this case it depends on what that $20K is an increase on, if its an increase on an income close to $200K it may not be as important as an increase on $50K.
For me? $20K raise?theres no doubt we are moving

With the way prices increase daily these days and the "dollar" value going down...I don't know how it cannot be about the money, especially when you have kids!

$20k is $20k... I'd move if it was just $5k....LOL

Feel you pain. Hubby just landed a job in Lakeland and we're moving from Palm Harbor.
The commute on I4 is brutal anytime of day, esp during summer rainy season. Don't want to move to Lakeland but if the commute is more than 20 minutes, do it or you and the kids will regret it.

TAKE THE JOB OFFER!! 20,000 more dollars a year to move a couple hours away? I love the beach, but I'd still rather live in central Florida for a 20,000 increase in salary! Lake Mary is a beautiful area and Orlando has LOTS of entertaintment! There are many nice neighborhoods and classy towns. Lake Mary is a great place. It's not like you got a job offer in the ghetto! TAKE IT!
