Years ago when I first began spending time in St. Pete, Kenwood was considered a desirable area. However, since the economic and real estate downturn, I have heard rumours that it is not as safe as it used to be.

I'd be interested in opinions on any safety issues in Kenwood and also some nearby areas like Woodlawn, Allendale Terrace, Euclid St. Paul, etc.

Kenwood is a safe area. Contrary to what you posted it isn't going downhill at all, instead it is becoming more desirable. More restaurants and shops are opening up on central and many people are investing in their homes.

I've heard a few people say Kenwood is the next Old Northeast. It has a long history, and a very strong neighborhood association. Kenwood is becoming the unofficial gayborhood of Tampa Bay. It hosts St. Pete pride and is home to many gay friendly bars.

Kenwood is a great place to live.

I would live in Kenwood. There's nothing more unsafe about it than any other neighborhood.

I've always liked Kenwood, and many of the surrounding areas. I love the historical homes and bungalows.

Most private homes in Florida seem to have security/privacy fences around the back yard anyway, which should help with safety.

I have a friend who lives there with his partner and they have spent a lot of money upgrading their home in Kentwood. They love the area
