So the person cranks up a brand new account, digs up a three-year old thread, makes an off the wall comment about how is a gated community supposedly presumed safe if it is gated and you think that is not a statement huh? Okeydokey!

Come one housing... You've been here long enough to know that Tampa encompasses the entire state of Florida!

Well, by many of these forum posts it could sometimes seem like maybe not the entire state, just the ghetto sections of it. They've bussed all the ghetto to Tampa. And now someone has found a gated community there. Will wonders never cease?

So even though Temple Terrace has as few sexual offenders as Palm Harbor & Westchase, some misinforming city-data poster would mischaracterize Temple Terrace thusly....

So even though Temple Terrace has as far less crime than many of the more touted areas of Tampa Bay, some misinforming city-data poster would mischaracterize Temple Terrace thusly....

which is completely untrue according to the stats.

In this thread //www.city-data.com/forum/tampa...-bay-safe.html

crime maps are shown, as in the post #1 there, which I have bumped for everyone's convenience and will copy/paste here to show that the VanHalen character's post is mischaracterizing of Temple Terrace, just as we've seen in numerous other cases where that poster has mischaracterized other areas of Tampa Bay.

Let's start off--with no agenda in mind--with Temple Terrace. Here's what the city's police department Temple Terrace, FL - Official Website - Crime Maps shows for all their crime for the week...

They had a parking lot light shot to death with a BB gun. A car keyed and slashed over on lover's lane. A car broken into. And probably two bicycles stolen.

Well, with how much so many of the members here dis TT, that can't be all the crime. Right? I mean, that sounds boring. I looked further because they must be hiding their crime. So I thought to check out the county pockets CrimeMapping. And that's where I found some surprising information.

Guess where much of the crime is? Temple Terrace? No, you would be wrong to say that. Try instead saying that the crime is in Carrollwood. Never mind elsewhere. Here's the rest of the crime maps for random last week.

Here's Temple Terrace area county pockets. You can see there were all of 9 incidents total, five being mere traffic incidents....

Now let's have a look at the much praised Carrollwood area in the very same time period...

Here's Carrollwood crime. Oh, no. Of 29 in this one area they had only 9 traffic. The rest was actual crime....

Here's more Carrollwood area crime, 45 more, during the very same week...

And then of course there's also these Carrollwood area crimes, an additional 53 in that one week...

Temple Terrace: 9 crimes in the county pockets plus 5 in the city proper including a bb gun and some bicycles.

Carrollwood: 127 crimes, in one week. wow.

What area could possibly be worse then that? That would be the Lake Magdalene-adjacent suitcase city

Let's have a look see at that....

Oh my! 144? You'd think a regular daytime job would require less work than perpetrating all of that.

What might some of the other areas show. Oh look, more surprises.....

Here's Westchase. Four Battery charges. Worse than the Temple Terrace BB gun but not as bad as it gets.

Stay tuned for google pictures. I'll post them later.

You're welcome.

But I know you are all waiting in anticipation so here's a little teaser....

Here's probably the lowest cost area of town, south of Busch, E of 56th where the town extends 2 blocks west to E 52nd St.

This is what a misinforming poster would call "ghetto"

Drive up Busch Blvd between 275 and 56th street, feel the blight, go to that bowling alley at Busch and 56th street, feel the ghetto... drive down riverside drive and see how ghetto it is... drive up 40th street by the river, ghetto

Also, 2 words: Rowlett Park... done

You cherry pick nice streets but ignore that the entire area is ghetto

Some people see nothing but ghetto as soon as they leave the sanctuary of their plastic gated subdivisions. Everyday hard working people's neighborhoods get brushed with the "ghetto brush". Not by any real experience, just a causal drive by observation.

I used to go to that bowling alley all the time. I was actually there not too long ago. It is pretty ghetto. They only had about two lanes open, full of people having a good time bowling. Next door, in the skating rink (which is also pretty ghetto), they were holding a roller derby tournament (which is pretty big in the ghetto, I hear). We'll also ignore the newer Publix across the street.

I'm really starting to wonder if you know what a real ghetto is. You've made the same claim about every area in or around Tampa. At this point, you're just trying to get a reaction from people.
