In my research, I'm kind of finding that the St. Pete area seems to have a larger variety of nightlife, dining, restaurants on the water, incredible beaches (pass-a-grill, Ft. De soto, etc).

I know areas are hit or miss of course, and when I move I want to stick to the "Harbor" areas simply because the schools are better. I am planning on renting initially for a couple years before puchasing a home. A part of me is thinking rent until they finish HS and then w/out the school restictions move wherever we want.

By the time the boys finish school I will still be mid 40's...I'm wondering if once we're empty nesters if we wouldn't enjoy more living in the St. Pete area then the Palm/Safety Harbor? Any suggestions from those that have lived in both?

I'd love to have those fabulous beaches, camping, restaurants, dining, outside bars, all within close proximity.
