I hear so many contradictions about how bad Florida has become,it's crazy. I am semi disbled and live on a fixed income, my girl is transeferring from Walmart up here to 1 down closest to where we will move. Then she can look for a better job. If we can we are looking at houses in the 750.00 rent range have found many, but don't know the area well enough to pin one down. also have a chance to buy a 3 bed,2 bath for 79,000.00 near Brooksville. We just don't know what to do? CT is so expensive $1500.00 a month for a small 2 bed,2 bath. We have 2 dogs and all the developements wants $300.00 a dog to move in, along with all the rules they have.
HELP! Anyone with an Idea of a reasonable, safe town to go to trying to stay spring hill, brooksville area.
Anything would be helpful, been looking since May need to get settled by middle August for daughters school.
Thanks
Bill

Spring Hill and Brooksville would be way better than NPR.

Central Springhill will put you within a 10 minute drive from 3 Walmarts, seems to be plenty of schools in the area, not much in the way of public transportation so a car is essential..
Heres a Craigslist for rental housing in the general area .
hernando co apts/housing for rent classifieds - craigslist

Keep in mind that the house you are looking at in Brooksville could be just about anywhere in the county. Most of the unincorporated parts of the county from west of US 19, north to the Citrus County line and all the way east out close to Ridge Manor could be called Brooksville and could put you a fair distance from the Walmart.

Overall most areas are safe with most shopping you need close by. As far as schools, some are better than others so this may influence your move, my kids went to Pinegrove, West Hernando and Central and I was very happy with those schools. My neighbors kids now go to the newly built Weeki Wachee High School and Winding Waters middle school and are also very happy with the schools.

I live in Spring Hill and can easily get to any one of three Walmart locations that are around me. What area is this house located that you have an opportunity to buy? Perhaps you can get some neighborhood-specific feedback if you can give that info.
