I'm a new grad from college moving to Tampa next summer and I'm looking for a place to rent (townhome/apartment) in a nice community that has a pool, fitness center, clubhouse, etc. However, my only drawback to living in an apartment or condo is that I have a dog who needs to be run around in a backyard or a dog park, and I'll have little time to go out and drive to a dog park away from my place. I'll be working in Seminole and my girlfriend will be working in the Carrollwood/Town 'n' Country area so I'm looking for a place about halfway between the two locations such as Feather Sound, Safety Harbor, Oldsmar, etc. Does anyone have any advice for a nice apartment complex or townhome community that have either backyards in the units or a dog park in the community? I'm looking for a 2-3BR place up to the mid $1,000's in rent. Thanks!

why not rent a house and then your dog will have plenty of room. you can always join a gym if you want extra amenities.

There are at least 8 Tampa dog parks/off leash areas in the area. Check out the map and cross reference it with the neighborhoods that you are checking out. I wonder if city-data could use maps like this?

There is also a dog park near Leto HS. I use to take my dogs there. They have a fenced area for large and one for small dogs.

I live in South Tampa in a Camden Apartment (there's 3 great communities less than a mile away from each other), www.camdenliving.com. Anyway, I don't have a dog (yet) but I run on Picnic Island Beach Dog Park, which is seconds away. My boyfriend and I moved here last month from DC and the neighborhood is nice, feels safe, and close to everything.
