3 of the top 5 are in Florida. Score another for the sunshine state!

Which city has the worst drivers? Boston, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Miami? - Slate Magazine

I know people often these kinds of list and all that, but I found their ranking methodology pretty solid. I guess it basically confirms what everyone around here already knows.

Hmm, how is SpringHillian going to spin this one??? LOL

This report is based on hard factual evidence and not "personal experiences"...the drivers here suck plain and simple.

Bologna.. is this strictly for Tampa or Tampa bay? I've driven everywhere in this country, lived in the Northwest, Northeast and Southeast. It's the same everywhere; the more vehicles on the roads, the more accidents and aggression (everyone seems to be in a hurry). These statistics are pointless. I'd say DC, NY, Atlanta, LA, Chicago have more accidents.

Btw, aren't most Tampa drivers from somewhere else?

Spin what? I think many drivers are idiots no matter where they drive. Courtesy and common sense have left the road.

Those same drivers used to drive someplace else. No wonder car insurance rates are so high there

Why do want to spin this into an attack to native Floridians. IMO and i based this in no scientific data whatsoever, it feels like there is an accident every day here in Tampa during my commute, granted it is not the end of world (for me anyway), it doesnt slow me down that much or its of much consequence my commute is still generally light compared to other cities where I lived,

Again, bologna.. it even says, "Tampa doesn’t do any single thing terribly..If the city had managed to get outside the bottom half in any individual category, Tampa residents might have avoided this distinction."

yeah but they didnt manage to get out of the bottom half in ANY of them, so that is why they are the 4TH worst driving City in the country. Have you ever tried to ride a bicycle or walk anywhere in or around Tampa????!? My guess is no...

yes that's why-- most from some place else and think they own the road, I saw a whole segment about the bicyclist who went to jail in CA and they mentioned the new arrogance people have on the road- both on bikes as well as cars. This entitlement thinking is killing people literally. I also think or laws have gotten slack... and when teens see Lohan or the other bling-blings and a the local judge etc go to jail for a day n come back out- it is giving a message that there are NO consequences for your actions anymore, just throw money at it and i will go away. There are more cars on the road and less street space, we also are a pissed people, stressed, over worked and sleep deprived, besides- as they blasted me on a previous post- if you get a DUI- so its a just a mistake,,, no moral fiber,,, so until people relearn to do the right thing, hope it doesn't hit your door-step.
