I think both of those players ovestayed their welcome, Lynch wanted to get paid like a top safety, ended up in Denver very pedestrian end to his career, Sapp with the Raiders again should have retired years earlier. BTW Sapp is a to be polite an acquired taste he has such an abrasive personality, I personally cant stand him for more than 30 sec on TV.

Same here. And it's not like they weren't paid pretty decently by the franchise over the years. Can't expect the franchise to keep paying them top dollar as they decline in their careers with salary cap and all.....feel the same about Sapp. Don't like him, his personality - he comes across as a bully.

Heh, as someone who lived in South Florida during the days of Bryan Cox with the Dolphins, Sapp was Little Lord Fauntleroy compared to that.

What I'm talking about here is not about pay and my understanding is that Lynch was willing to give on that and do something else with the organization, just to stay here with the team and the community. At least that's what I recall playing out on TV. Heck, I saw tears on the guy's face and they weren't the crocodile variety.

You can't treat winners like that and expect to keep on winning. Really, you have to admit it was a mess in the aftermath of the Super Bowl win.

I haven't read this entire thread, so maybe this has already been hashed over, but does anyone think McKay might come back? Rumor has it... Him and Lovie, could be a winning combo, yes? Except he'd have to build things up again like he did before. And that took some time.

McKay won't be back... this has been brought up in one way or another every year. He's just not that great of a cap person and is under contract with Atlanta.

By all indications the new GM did an excellent job this off season, of course on paper, based on that why would they replace him.

Wish I had a dollar for every person who did an excellent job in business and was still replaced for one reason or another.

sorry fellow Buccaneers fans - but I've unloaded my ticket for the Packers' game- I'm sure it'll be televised.....didn't take long to sell it, either. I think less than a day on Stubhub........don't know if a Buc fan bought it, but most likely a Cheesehead did ---sorry about that - Knucklehead Cheeseheads can get obnoxious - and smelly - and I don't want to be in a stadium with them.

Back in the day (late 80s early 90s) the Packer Backers were pretty cool. My brother knew a bunch of them from college and I got to tag along to their tailgate parties. Shows how long it's been since I've been to a game lol.
