That's usually when the break in the weather occurs. It's almost like clockwork: the second or third week in October we actually get a "cool" front of some sort. Since I've lived here, I can recall only one year when it was a little different. We got that break in October, and then the heat came roaring back until mid-November.

Oct will feel better for sure. At least the nites are much longer in later Sept and we start to get some stronger northeast winds in later Sept.

It can vary year to year. I have looked back in my weather records and seen us get into the 50's a few years by the 10th or sooner in Oct. Also them 2 freak days in mid Sept of 1980 we had lows of 58 in Tampa.

Never had a tree yet so who knows. I bought one that does not need rain or shade. All of the very few big oaks in the hood have died and all the orange and grapfruit trees have died thanks to greening sickness.
