Can anyone shed some light on David Weekley as a builder in Waterset or nearby communities?
Their website claims they are extremely energy efficient, but they don't mention a HERS rating.

Is anyone living in a house built by Weekley?

We were about to buy a 2 year old house built by David Weekley a year ago and was shocked by the quality. The house was in Wesley Chapel though... It had major structural defects and home owner couldn't get anything from the builder. While we were walking around the house with our inspector, the guy from next door approched us and told us he has the same problem with his (4 year old) house.

Interesting. I always have heard that they were a quality builder in the Tampa area.
Thank you for your comments.

I looked at BBB ratings for Weekely in Tampa and they are rated an A+. How could they quality be poor and yet they are so highly rated?

Bob - I noticed that too. That's why I was surprised to see that comment.

I can give you the address of the house I was talking about in PM. It was finally sold as a short sale in AS IS condition. What surprised me is the way David Weekley didn't want to deal with it and honor their warranty - not something I expect from A rated builder.
Also, DW build less houses compare to other builders, so less data available or statistics...
On a side note, pretty much any builder will have + and - reviews.

how about addressing the concerns brought up by EngGirl and the home she walked through at Wesley Chapel? is this par for the course from your builder?

When A-rated home builder is going to public forum like city-data to defend their quality, it looks a little fishy to me.

I've seen these empty comments on Facebook for another builder. At the end of the day we have a lot of promises and zero resolutions.
