I am in my early 20's and live with my gf. I have been in tampa going to school for a few years now and know areas are hit or miss. The most important thing is safety regardless of time within reason. I am looking for suggestions on 1 bedroom apartments in the carrollwood/citrus park area. I would be traveling to the west shore/downtown area as well as my gf but it seems like those areas are out of budget unless you know of an area around there that fits. I am looking to spend no more than $1100/month on rent. Maybe better to rent a house? Any exact communities would be appreciated. Thanks

There are plenty of good options around your budget in Citrus Park. Broadstone Citrus Village is a nice and safe place to live, I love it. Tapestry is a new apartment complex very nice too.

My son had a one bedroom at Camden Bay on Hillsborough. He paid something like $800 which included cable and valet trash pick up. It seems safe and clean, I wouldn't mind living there myself. He is your age. Its not carrollwood/citrus park but wouldn't be a bad commute for you.
