Hello all! We are facing a possible relocation for a new job. While we spent 10 years in Broward county, we are very unfamiliar with the west coast. My husband's job would be in Clearwater near the St Pete/Clearwater Airport. His work hours would be 10am-6pm. He is currently commuting into Boston for over an hour each day. He is ok with a 1 hour drive but would prefer not to push past that. We have two elementary school aged children. I am not totally caught up in needing a "10" rated school. I want it to be safe and a place that they can succeed. We prefer suburbia...subdivisions with publix, box stores and restaurants not too far away. We would like to stay under $2500 to rent a home.

I enjoy running and triathlons. My girls love softball, dance and baton twirling. We like going to the movies, bowling, causal family friendy restaurants. We aren't really outdoorsy. Would love to be near a YMCA like family facility. (driveable not necessarily walkable). Just for the record...even though we currently live in the Boston area, we don't care for it and won't be seeking anything similar or familiar with the area.

From what I can tell online the best area for us to stick to is northern Pinellas and possibly southwestern Pasco. But it is really hard to grasp what exactly is doable distance wise in other directions.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. We just want to make sure this is doable before negoations get to far.

You can use google directions to do the route from a potential home to the work location. There is a setting in there to set the day of the week and time of day you will be driving and it will adjust the time estimates to the typical traffic for his specific commute time. The prime north south routes for that commuter are highway 19 or mcmulen booth/611. Both get heavy in those directions for his commute but his later times may help.

Northern Pinellas county is very doable to the CLW airport.
Areas that I believe would be good: Safety Harbor, Eastland Lakes Woodland, Featherwood.
