Wish they'd buy the Rays and plant a state of the art stadium on the waterfront. Current ownership has no business owning a team. Its like buying a house when cant pay the taxes or utility bills....you have no business living in something you cant afford. But thats anither topic. Development of the area is what we need. Need a great rail system with it for the next 50 yrs as pop grows.

I like that Vinik is a Tampa booster, the city has needed some serious re-development for decades.

The weather is fantastic: for six months of the year, anyway.

The problem is simply finding the space. I've been a strong supporter of moving the Aquarium... Apparently Ken "Don't move our confederate monuments, they're historical. Hey, lets tear down Ybor." Hagan doesn't agree.

You've converted me. Ybor is off limits. All historical buildings should be protected. Keep the McDonald'sBKKFC-type zoning to a minimum. Only improve without destroying.

To be fair, the area in Ybor they're looking into really has nothing to offer. The issue then really is the traffic. Ybor has been trying to narrow roads to limit the amount of traffic. Hillsborough already doesn't take care of the roads they're supposed to in Tampa, imagine once a stadium goes in. Add to that, they have NO plan for ANY sort of mass transit.
