i have my car in the tampa bay area and i live in ny area, i need to sell it and i can't get back to fla. --- need some direction because i have never sold a car and the distance is a problem. it is a 1997 suv with 70k mi 8 cyl Help need advise

Look for a broker. He/she can take it to the auto auction and sell it for you.

thank you thank you i will look for a broker, my first thought was to send my neighbor to a used car lot --- will i do better with a broker?

Don't send your neighbor to a used car lot. They will only give you peanuts for it, as now they are not selling the SUV's due to the gasoline prices.

If you have a trusted friend that would be willing to show your car to interested buyers, you might try listing it on Craigslist.

IIRC there are some car lots where they will let you put your car on their lot and they get a commission if it sells. I remember one on Hillsborough that was like that
