Just a bunch of subdivisions and strip malls really.

Traffic is hellish, and that's being kind. If you work from home this isn't an issue, but if you commute or have to go out on a regular basis, be prepared.

Infrastructure has not and will not catch up for many, many years. Learn to deal with it or find another place to live.

Thanks for the update. Not concerned about schools as we will be retiring soon (and have no school age children). Would think travel downtown would not be in early morning or 5 o'clock traffic (more of dinner and Lightning games). Still sounds like main roads are very busy.

They are. Even during the middle of the day and on weekends, when you would think traffic would be lighter. This is not going to change for a long, long time, if ever.

Good luck!

Traveling to downtown actually isn’t bad on the Selmon Expressway. You might get stuck in traffic going to the Selmon, but once you get there it’s normally a quick drive into downtown.

This is true for the most part as long as you avoid rush hour. The "lower deck" is especially nasty during rush hour and can get backed up for a long time. If you use the express lanes it's a lot better as long as you're not trying to get off right at the end, as traffic will back up for people trying to turn onto Twiggs (during rush hour).

Otherwise, yes, the Selmon is a wonderful thing that makes commuting much easier from this side of town. I can get for Bloomingdale to downtown in 30 minutes even during rush hour. Even better going into the city for nighttime and weekend events.

There is a price to be paid for having no state income tax, and infrastructure is one price.

Not just traffic, but things like the water supply. They've had a major issue with low pressure in the water supply down that because the system just can't cope with the use. It's being addressed, but I don't know what the time frame is.

The lift station has been built. Right now pipe is being laid down balm riverview to connect it. I'm thinking summer it should be ready.
