There is a welcome center...
Check with the Spring Hill or Henando Chamber of Commerce. I believe they have welcome get togethers 1st week of the month. They might know or start one up. That would be a great way to meet like minded folk.

Spring Hill
Hi, I live in Hernando Beach, which is in Spring Hill. While it is true that there are a lot of retirees here, I think it's a WONDERFUL place for families with children. The schools a great, and the crime rate is very low. The closer you get to Tampa, the worse the crime. There are many public beaches and parks. Another community with good schools is Land O Lakes. We considered moving there, but enjoy being on the water here at Hernando Beach. With all the retirees, you know that pharmacies (jobs) will always be plentiful.

My son in law is selling, 2.5 acres Home, is near Witchlachochee River Trail about 1 mile, , High and dry but it does flood in some areas near the river. Lots of lots for sale out there, He loves it there, but has 3 kids and wife that dont want to work , His HO Insurance went from 800 to 3000. So he is out of there. THe insurance co said it is because Hernando county is risk for sink holes. His address is Dade City but on edge of RIdge Manor, about 10 mins from brooksville. They home school their kids they dont like the schools.
