I'm Japanese, but I've lived in US for quite a while. I recently moved to Brandon area. Every now and then, I feel like something very Japanese, such as natto (soaked and fermented soy beans) and jasmine-scented bath salts. Is there a store where I can find Japanese food and groceries in Tampa area? I would great appreciate your info!

There is no specific Japanese store, but there are asian markets in the area. I am half Korean and get an itch for an asian treat. You can go to the Brandon Oriental Market (nice family owns it, the mom is Korean) on Pauls. If you are on Oakfield, turn on Pauls (not towards 60, go the other way, heading towards Causeway) and the Brandon Oriental Market will be on the left. It's an orange building. Pretty big, nicely organized and a variety of everything. There is a smaller asian market off of 60 in the plaza where Old Time Pottery is (behind Hooters). I am not a fan of that store, it is pretty small. You might want to check that out though, maybe there is something there that isn't offered at the oriental market. You don't nessesarily have to hike to Tampa to shop at an oriental market, but they may have a few different things to offer. Hope this helps!
