Hello and thanks for taking your time to read this post. I am looking to relocate to the Tampa area and during my search have come across some apartments in the Brooksville area that have caught my eye and I am interested in getting more from an insiders view of the Brooksville area. Is it a good place to live if you have children. Is it safe or should I avoid this area. Any info you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you again for your time,
Catandra

Which apartments are they?

Dependent upon where in Tampa you are working it could be a bit of a commute.

You would be looking 50 min. to an hour commute from Village Green.
Not a terrible area but not great either but the schools it is zoned for are at the bottom rung in the county.
You could find a house for rent in the $750-$850 range in a nicer part of Hernando instead of being in an apartment.

What is your price range? Living in Brooksville you would also have to take in the cost of using the expressway everyday. Brooksville is a nice little town though..

There are lots of apts that are closer and in a good school zone. If you find apts you can ask here and someone will try and help you.

Brooksville is a great southern city. its very safe and affordable. Brooksville is segregated and if that does not bother you than you will be fine. You will also see a lot of Confederate flags in this area, but than again Tampa has the worlds largest confederate flag on I-75. I guess its part of living in the south.

Brooksville is segregated?

This is 2009 not 1959.

LMAO have you ever heard "If this flag offends you, you need a history lesson." It's a rebel flag, and a part of history, not racism, or segregation. But look within yourself for the truth to your opinion.
