I'm in the process of getting a business off the ground in Clearwater, Florida and thought I could ask a few questions to some fellow business owners in the area.

I'm a business owner from San Diego looking to move in 09 to either st.pete or orlando areas and have heard that my chances are better for money in Orlando... As st.pete is a waiting to die zone... Doesn't sound like a place to raise 5 white kids safely from crime stats.... Called local cop shop and was told it's only been getting worse around here becuase the youth are bored... Don't need that..

I did have a retail store in Pinellas Park. What type of business are you starting?

Call the Clearwater Chamber of Comerce and get an appt to see a Business Counsellor(free) from SCORE there. They offer counselling there once a week, I believe.
Good Luck.

I wouldn't move the family to St. Pete or Clearwater. A couple of really family friendly places are Dunedin and Safety Harbor.
