We went to the beach today - and it was beautiful as usual, but I am a bit overwhelmed by this late season record temps.

The Gulf waters are boiling, my patio is off-limits, and I miss my fall exercise outdoors for October.

I think it will break in 7 days, but we can't be sure. Kinda crazy weather.
We have a high pressure system over the area keeping these high temps in place.

It's been 103+ heat index for weeks.
I miss my fall snap. Not to mention the big AC bills in October?

This too shall pass. I'm just getting impatient. Usually I get this restless way in September.
Sigh.

We were at 41 degrees this morning at 9 a.m., so your heat wave sounds pretty darn good to me. I can't wait to get back to Florida.

Sunnydee - I love Florida too.
I am so very grateful to live in this beautiful place.

It's just a bit too hot these days for even native Floridians. We are now breaking records for high temps this year on the Gulf Coast.

I lived in the midwest for a few years and do not miss the scraping of the car windows.

This heat wave will pass in a week, and we'll then have the perfect weather we deserve. (after this hot summer)

Not complaining here, just growing weary of the high temps + humidity.

Maybe that will energize more snow birds to come down this year and stimulate the economy here.

Perfect weather in a few days? What 90 instead of 93?

A couple of weeks ago there was a few days of low humidity and high 70s and low 80s, now that was perfect weather. It was high humidity and high temps well into Nov last year.

To be honest with you this seems to be the norm. It is not like you see some drastic or even a gradual change here.

dont worry I have friends coming from UK monday and she always complains that whenever she comes over the weather goes cold! Feb/Oct were last times, so fingers crossed she does it again. However, I have to deal with the complaints if it does

LOL.....I hope your right...those few days we had of cooler weather were great, who doesn't like high 70s and low 80s with low humidity.

I'm trying to be optimistic seain dublin. Anything's better than 103+ heat index.

This is *not the norm* - as we are breaking all kinds of heat weather records.
I'm wishing for lower humidity too.
