Sorry in advance. i have a feeling that this topic may have been posted a lot, but i didnt see anything about it.

My wife and i are wanting to come down from atlanta next week, and i was wondering what the scene was like in clearwater/st petes area during spring break. We made the mistake last year of going to PCB during spring break, and it was way too collegey. Someone suggested destin, but it doesnt look like it will be warm enough for swimming in the ocean and so forth. We are both 30 and like to go out and eat/drink, but not be around complete asses.

one more question:

Does anyone know the actual drive time from atlanta? (google maps says 9.5 hrs)

Clearwater/St Pete Beaches are very busy this time of year, but you will NOT get a PCB experience, just busy with tourists and more mature Spring Breakers that come to have fun, not as WILD as PCB. You may also look at tripadvisor too..

We took our toddler for a walk over at Clearwater Beach on Tues night. There was some spring break type stuff going on, but, nothing crazy. There were lots of couple and families. No topless women or men without shorts.

That being said, maybe I'm just overly sensitive to it now that we have a kid, but I hate walking around in public and hearing people drop the F* bomb. Not that our kid won't hear that eventually anyway... but adults who talk like that when kids are around aren't exactly my class of people.
