Thank you in advance. We will be staying in Residence Inn at downtown Tampa for four days. Our German Shepherd Dog will be traveling with us. We would like following recommendations from you.

1. A Japanese restaurant.
2. A Chinese restaurant.
3. A seafood restaurant.
4. Any good restaurant that would allow a dog at its outdoor sitting area.
5. Any nearby area that I can roam around with my GSD while my husband attends his business meeting.

checkout this website: FloridaPets.net - The Web's #1 resource for all that is pet friendly in Florida

It lists different dog friendly places you can bring your dog. Ft. DeSoto beach has a nice dog beach. I would be careful of what beaches you bring your dog. I have brought my dog to several beaches. Ft. DeSoto was the only one that I had not experienced sand spurs. They are very painful for the dog. They are very sharp spurs that get stuck in their paws. They can pick up 3, 4, 5 of them in one spot. We have several dog parks that your doggie can play. Some even seperate the big dogs and the little dogs. Make sure to bring water, if it is not provided.

You are not too far from Channelside. It is a nice place to walk around, eat, drink. They sometimes have live music in the center of Channelside. You probably could google Channelside and see what events may be happening during the time you are staying. Also, Ybor City is not too far. There are nightclubs there. It is not my scene, but more of the younger 20's music clubs, bar scene. It can get very crowded and rowdy over the weekends.

If you are travelling to Clearwater or St. Pete, a nice fish place: Frenchy's. There are 2 in different locations. Japanese. I know none downtown, but on Dale Mabry Hwy, much further up is Kobe. It is habachi style. Chinese: Place of the Orient in Seminole (not too far from you) is really nice and has a whimsical feel. Also Yummy House on 2202 W Waters St. It will be a little bit of a drive. I have heard that is a good chinese place too.

Since you are downtown here are some good choices
1. Oishi Japansese at Channelside
2. China Yuan on Armenia Ave near Waters Ave - you WONT be dissapointed(about 15 min from downtown)
3. Mangroves(fancy seafood), Crab Shack(not fancy seafood)
4. Ive seen dogs outside at Cafe Dufrain on Harbour Island downtown - GREAT food and views, also Fly Bar on Franklin and TAPS at Skypoint.
5. Davis Islands dog beach and dog park, there is also a small waterfront park and walk in front of the Performing Arts Center along the river, the Residence Inn folks will tell you where you can walk your pup around downtown, I have friends that live downtown and walk there dogs all over the place...there is also a dog friendly park near the hotel, Herman Massey Park.
