Greetings from Cincinnati!!! (Go BENGALS!!!)

I am seriously considering relocating to the Tampa area after the first of the year. I have visited the Tampa / Clearwater area frequently, and I have stayed on both sides of Rocky Point. If I were to consider renting or room shared, which side is rated better overall. My past experience, for the sake of the "view" was when I stayed at the Sailport resort. However, there seems to be more long term housing options on the other side (Bahama Breeze).

Any feedback is greatly appreciated! I am new to this forum and have found an extreme amount of VALUABLE information!

Thank you -

I have young, professional friends that live in the Post apartments on the North side. For renting, they like it. I think the North being mostly apartments would be more transient oriented, but walking distance to Bahama Breeze (lol).

I, like you, rented a condo at Sailport while we looked for permanent housing. I loved the location, but the floorplan was weird, e.g., shotgun design style. Most of the South side is condos & townhouses, so the units are going to be both owner and renter occupied.

I am currently helping a National Guard member living in the Post apartments who wants to buy a townhouse at Island Club. Overall, I like the area geographically and can't see a clear-cut decision for one over the other.

Ahhh yes - Island Club looks VERY nice! Good luck with your client there. While the view at Sailport was stunning, I agree with you about the floor plan. A bit dated too.

Thanks for your input!
