I've found the topic of heat to be a passionate subject for many, including myself! I'm guilty of engaging certain co-workers in these Florida/heat debates. One guy didn't like the winter weather this year, you know those 65 degree days with low humidity. Well, it's getting hot again and now he says the AC at work is too low. I ceased the opportunity to make him aware of his aging, frail physique and to step outside if it's too cold for him. And to the people who are still leaving your windows open this time of the year, are you telling me that if electricity was FREE, you still wouldn't turn your air conditioning on? Or maybe the truth is your just being frugal, but want to mask that frugality by saying you prefer damp breezes blowing through your house. But it doesn't concern me anyway, people live the way they want. In the end, I'm going to be cool. I like my house to feel like a hospital, chilly and sterile. I don't know about you but I like to turn my AC way down at night, and then put a heavy blanket over me. I sleep real good like that.

I am LOVING the past few days. Absolutely perfect! Except it's a little chilly in the shade. I'm guessing the humidity will be higher when summer gets here, though?

So, for me, it has nothing to do with saving money. Mid 80s feels wonderful.

You will see melting humidity starting in late May. Once the gulf temp gets above 85 and we are stuck in a west wind flow you will feel true hell. Late June thru the first half of Sept are the core hell months.

Chilly in the shade? I'd say that temp would have been perfect if it felt that way in full sun.

Some people really can't tolerate cooler temperatures. I wonder why that is?

Don't worry. If you thought it was chilly in the shade this past week, a Florida summer is just about perfect for you.

Which winter were you in? 65 degrees? It was 20's 30's 40's, I even had a bunch of mornings in the teens.
Averages in the 40's and 50's is not 65 degrees.
Besides the fact that many of us that moved to Florida did so with the realization and expectation that it is warm a good part of the year. When it is unseasonably cold I feel I am a lot more justified complaining about it than those that complain about the heat.

If I moved to Fargo, ND and complained about the cold I think most people would look at me as if I was an idiot.

And no, there is no way I would have the AC on right now even if electricity was free. It got up to 75 in my house today with all the windows and french doors open. 75 is not making my air kick on anyway.

Yes, I do like warm weather and is one of the reasons I moved to Florida.
