In, in, and probably in because you are in-state.

I lived with a guy from Anchorage as a college student in MN, and he couldn't be vociferous enough that Minnesota was just ridiculously cold compared to Anchorage. He was pretty miserably cold most of the school year. Anchorage's maritime climate makes a difference.

You're correct- Minnesota, Michigan, Buffalo, heck, even Alamosa, Colorado can be much colder than Anchorage. But the groomed skate ski trails are great here & we have plenty of snow. Happy Holidays, everyone. And keep warm.

Humans weren't meant to live in Godforsaken state with its miserable weather. It's half the reason I am going back to school, a convenient excuse to get out.
Actually, humans originated in tropical climates.

Ok, this may sound like a stupid question, but I'm about to graduate with a Bachelors in History and then I'll be going into an MAT program so I can get my Alaska teachers Certification. I will also be doing a Masters program for a Masters of Arts in History. Trying to read the salary schedule for the Anchorage School District is confusing because i have no idea what the difference is between BA, BA54, ME, ME90, Masters, BA+36 w/ Masters. I have no idea where I will fall into and how to advance myself. If anyone could help it would be much apreciated.

I'd sure look to how many jobs you are going to find teaching history before I'd waste my time and money get more degrees in history.

My daughter has a degree in peace and global studies. For four long years we told her that finding a job in peace and global studies would impossible. She assured us that we were wrong because her professors told her so. Eight years later(and a series of entry level jobs in non-profits) she says she wished somebody(anybody) had told her that there were really no jobs in peace and global studies. Parents are NOT anybody, I guess.
