I have friends moving to Linden and wanting to know if a good place to retire to? They are wanting me to move there and also. Does the city of Linden has many restaurants? Does it have many jobs?

Thanks, John

Go to the main page of city data/click on TN. Look under towns smaller than 6000

Eeep.. Linden?? As a family friend said: "Even a jackrabbit would need to pack a lunch to go out to Linden."

We were going to buy property in Linden and it fell through. Thank God though! It has NOTHING. Where I now live has close to nothing, but it's still better then Linden. I can post pictures of Linden if you want though!

TG95....thanks for the link to "IMAGES from NOSTALGIAVILLE" some nice pictures there of my area here on the plateau...

I went to a realtor in Linden several years ago and looked at a place on a lake, it was a Spa and called Natural Bridge I think.

First, let me say that I like Perry County and Linden. I like small towns. But, there is not much of anything in Linden. For Middle Tennessee, Perry County is pretty sparsely populated.

To directly answer the original poster, yes, I think it is a nice place to retire to.
No, there are not a lot of restaurants.
No, there are not a lot of jobs. Perry County consistently ranks among the worst in the state for unemployment. It's one of the poorer counties in Middle Tennessee.
Lots of out of area property owners.

Pretty area.

I will now most likely live near West Nashville because I'm spoiled when comes to good hospitals and fast food. I've had family tell me Linden is really out-of-date when comes to city buildings and not much of resturants. Building look like something from the 1930's or 50's.

Thanks, John

I live a couple of counties to the west of Linden. Linden is in Perry county which is one of the more rural, backward counties in the entire state. Unless you spend all of your time fishing and hunting there is not much to do in Linden. If you want to live in Middle TN, take a look at Maury county. If West TN is more to your liking take a look at Lexington, TN in Henderson county.
