My folks used to go there a lot to eat...some good cooking. It is a small place, as far as the other, not for sure how that will go over there. Small towns are very interesting in a lot of ways, especially in Tn. They seem slow to respond to change, if you know what I mean. It is in the Bible belt, and not much change going on there. Good luck.

I live in Fayetteville and love it....not a bad town, I haven't lived here very long but I think being gay would be no problem....I haven't heard any bad stuff around here..I live near the town square and the rents are reasonable....

You might want to stick to larger cities where you can blend in a little better. The fabric of most small towns are knitted very tight and can have a problem with those who did not stick to their perspective moral codes. If you don't want to be talked about, sneered at and sometimes verbally accosted, I would focus on Knoxville where it is a little "progressive" if you know what I mean. There are a lot of young people there who tend to be a little more accepting of alternative lifestyles.

I think you would do fine in Fayetteville. Its just up the road from Huntsville, AL where there is booming growth and all sorts of people. Actually this area of TN is pretty accepting of people... its a live and let live philosophy... I know it's in the bible belt, but doesn't the Bible teach understanding and love? That's my perception at any rate... and i live not far from Fayetteville

I don't think things are as warm and fuzzy in Fayetteville as some are implying.

My step daughter lives in Fayetteville, from what we get from her. There is limited employment and if you don't work for one of the few bigtime employers. You don't make much money. True the food joints are good and a fair amount. But not much in the way of community stimulation for things to do.
