When we left So FL the house we were in was listed around 300k........around SE TN you could be a comparable house for about 100k.

Your memory is very good. What's funny is your scenario is exactly what happened. One couple moved from So. Cal. Another couple visited, fell in love and bought land in Twin Creeks. They recently bought a house also in Twin Creeks. We visited, marveled at the friendly people (three times people stopped to help us with directions on a motorcycle ride in the Smokies) and the beautiful area. We checked out the Johnson City area, but preferred Cookeville. I've seen your great photos on other threads and your helpful information. This forum has been a great source of info and insight.
