I'm pretty sure he's talking about Blount County, which is where Maryville and the Knoxville airport are located.

There are a couple of big lakes near Maryville: Lake Loudon is the closest, and south of Maryville is Tellico Lake. It's not the same as the Atlantic Ocean, but then again you don't get sand everywhere, either. I used to live on the A1A in Martin County FL, my front door faced the Atlantic Ocean. It was nice, but I prefer the lakes up here.

Maryville is also just a hop, skip and a jump from the Smoky Mountains.

I have no idea about what's available for kids in Blount County who are musically inclined. I'm sure a quick call to a realtor would clear that right up.

Default Maryville and Music Programs for Kids

Back to a question by Tyster71. First, Maryville is in Blount County and in Tennessee there is an option for cities to operate school systems separate from the county. The Maryville city school system is one of the very best public school systems in the state. The public school system's music program is excellent. My granddaughter is in the city school's music program and I'm very impressed with what the system has to offer.

OK this makes sense as for the last 5 years I have been going from one crisis to another and not having the time or money to travel. Once you are caught up in the South Florida rat race your free time has a hefty price. And even if you win the rat race, you're still a RAT!

Default I am Happy for you..wish it were Meeeeeeeeeeee

Sunnyhelena - I envy you! I am planning to move to east TN. this summer, God help me! Yes I am spending another boring Floridian Christmas, I've been here 30 years and can't wait to leave...Someone mentioned beaches, I haven't been to one in 4 years ! You got to get there really early for a good spot,it's hot as heck, I don't look like an 18 year old anymore and I don't want to compete with the string bikinis while I'm dressed in a tent! Not to mention the place is crowded like and out door bar and just as rowdy I can't take my kids there to see topless fluzzies!!! I won't miss it at all , give me lake with a little boat and a fishing rod and I'm happy. I can't wait to have a real Christmas in TN come next year........

Oh. While we're on the subject about water...Is there anywhere to swim around Knoxville. Someone told me that the water is polluted and you can't swim. That seemed kind of odd. There must be someplace to swim?
