My agent said this area might be good to look for a home? I am not sure where it is in NE Tennessee? I know I can google it, but would like you alls input. I don't trust the internet.

My guess is that your agent meant the area between Bristol, TN/VA and Shady Valley, TN. Centered around Highway 421.

That's basically heading eastbound out of Bristol toward South Holston Lake and then toward Mountain City. There really isn't much residential development once you get to Laurel Marina or so on 421. After that, you enter the Cherokee National Forest, before a short, intense mountainous drive to Shady Valley, followed by a straightaway before getting to Mountain City.

There aren't any grocery stores between the east side of Bristol and at least Shady Valley. No shopping besides some convenience stores and maybe a Dollar General or something. A couple small local restaurants and the marinas (in season) to eat at.

I usually swim at Jacob's Creek Recreation Area and get on the Appalachian Trail at Low Gap - usually at least once of these per week, often twice, this time of year. I walk at the weirs below South Holston Dam year-round. It's a great area for outdoor recreation, but there just isn't much there, and it's a good drive back to Bristol for anything.
