I’ve been reading this forum for a few months and love how everyone is so friendly and helpful. I’ve been trying to do a search using keywords, but I haven’t quite been able to come up with exactly what I’m looking for. My husband and I fell in love with Nashville during a trip a few years ago. We currently live in Michigan and have always talked about relocating to TN. We have two small children (4 and 2). I’m a country girl wanna be and want to raise my children in a good, friendly community that is safe and has good schools. Ideally, I would like a minimum of five acres and would like to be within an hour of Nashville. My husband is a banker and I am a paralegal (although, I would like to be a stay at home mom!) We would like to stay in the $225,000 (or below) range and would make the move probably within the next year. Our plan is to visit potential areas as much as we can this upcoming Spring and Summer.

Thank you very much for any input you can give!

In your price and commute range, I would consider Fairview in Williamson County, parts of Murfreesboro in Rutherford County, and Wilson and Sumner Counties. All have school systems that have big fans on this forum. Also, you might be able to find some acreage in the Bellevue area of west Nashville, near the McCrory Lane area. That part is pretty hilly, though, so your acres may not be usable.
One local website that allows you to search by criteria such as acres or school zone is Realtracs.com.
