If this is Tesla’s vision of long-distance travel in America’s future... and the solution to what the company calls the “road trip problem,” it needs some work.

I had a hard time getting over the fact the author called a CTS-V a sports car and then thoughts of "he must have been doig something stupid" kept creeping into my mind. Even so, it clearly cannot be relied on to go the anticipated distance. Maybe road trips need to be limited to late spring days when you need neither AC not heat.

My wife and I were seriously considering a Tesla S, we resigned to the fact that the technology was too new and it wouldn't be worth the risk. I'm sure it's a neat car for tooling around town.

I'd take a new C7 Corvette and a Volt for the same price.

Not sure what your point is, but he called the CTS-V a sport sedan, which it is.

A sports car (sportscar or sport car) is a small, usually two seat, two door automobile designed for spirited performance and nimble handling.[2] Sports cars may be spartan or luxurious but high maneuverability and minimum weight are requisite

CTS-V is a high performance luxury sedan It is not a sports car. It is a 4000 pound behmoth that goes fast.

He didn't call it a sports car. He called it a sport sedan.

No one cares about your opinions. Musk knows what he's doing. They automatically become collectors items, even as shiatty made as they are. People have too much paper money, that are worthless, and will stick them into anything that will grow in value, and Musk's junk will. Jew knows what he's doing. Look at Picasso. He was excellent classic artist, who did classic art for his soul and pleasure, and that overpriced BS called cubism for those with wallets ripping from money. Same here.
