Nope his critics were wrong. His last estimate was a touch high.

Official deliveries were 422,875. Once again a new record, beating last quarter's 405K.

Impressive job by Troy Teslike this quarter. The 422k delivery figure seems underwhelming to me considering the giga texas ramp and the massive price cuts and federal tax credits.
