Why is there a neither option? Texas teams are what we are talking about and 4 people voted so far for neither, I would understand if the option was another team out of state.

Anyway I'm surprised the Astros have support after the last two years. Years which were worse than their first and second years in pro ball as the Colt 45's. Games I attended back in 1962 and 1963 as I watched the Astrodome being built from the top rows of Colt 45's stadium are whatever it was called. Just like National League ball.

Have tried for 20 years to become a Ranger Fan too, since I'm surrounded by Ranger Fans and nearer to Arlington. American League ball is just too, one deminional, mispelled, offensive, offensive. Now what will I do, Astros an American League team, woe is me. lol

They did just that in 2010. It was a fun run in 2010 and 2011.

I like them both. I wish the Astros still had those crazy '70s rainbow uniforms. Those were just a visual assault!

I just wanted to update this if anybody was interested. It happened in July 2010 before the Rangers went to two World Series. Most of the pro-Stros arguments were because the Rangers haven't been to a WS...

Rangers ever since I started watching baseball.

I'm really surprised at how close the poll results are. I've been to a Rangers/Astros game in both parks, and the Houston fans don't take over Rangers Ballpark near as much as Texas fans take over Minute Maid.

This only recently started happening after the 2010 season. Before that, Astros fans use to take over Rangers Ballpark and you would hardly see Rangers fans in Houston. Now though, it is evening back out, as the Rangers aren't that good anymore and the Astros are on the come up finally. I think once the Astros are good again, the bandwagon will be much larger once again.

So in other words, the state isn't a diehard baseball state. The Rangers have always had solid support but that run in the 2000s was the last straw I suppose.

That's probably not untrue. I've always been a Rangers fan, but when I moved to Austin for a while I watched the Rangers a lot less. Then I moved back into the DFW area and my interest grew again. I do remember before the World Series runs, and the stadium was not as much of a destination as it is now.
