Anywhere but El Paso. Too isolated from the rest of the state and even dryer.

After some experiences in deep E. Tx I realized here wasn't a lot of overt racism-I'm not saying it wasn't there but I didn't see it like I have elsewhere. Overall I wouldn't mind living there again at all especially now that I have kids. And was my school smart! My husband from San Antonio thought he was going to some hick town at my first reunion. Was he shocked to see the education level compared to his high school
Yeah I like it here in San Angelo. Big enough to have everything I need while still having the friendly manners and slower pace of a smaller town.

Amarillo

1) San Angelo: Concho River, lakes, outdoor activities, friendly people, small town feel with most of the bigger city stores. Plus it is closest to my hometown.
2) Abliene: similar to above
3) Lubbock: lake near by, Tech is a big plus
4) Midland
5) Amarillo
6) Odessa/El Paso

San Antonio might be in West Southeast Texas.

I haven't been to Midland/Odessa, so I'll try to put the rest in order of personal preference:

1. Lubbock
2. Amarillo
3. Abilene
4. El Paso
5. San Angelo

I'd like to. Like with every area, you get the good and not-so-good opinions; I just want to see for myself one day.

Certainly Houston. Houston is based on the oil industry. But there's oil elsewhere as well, depending on what area of the industry you are in.

Houston
Corpus Christi
Victoria
San Antonio
Chicago area
Colorado
Oklahoma
Alaska
Cananda
Europe
Middle East
only to name a very few...
