Which city would you pick to live in if you had a choice? .. and why? I live in Lubbock but I always wondered what people thought about these western places as I all I see is people on this site talk about the east & south side of the state. I'm just curious

Amarillo
Lubbock
Midland
Odessa
Abeline
El Paso
San Angelo

I attended public schools and some college in Abilene, and left when I was 21. For the purpose of your inquiry - having to choose - I'd probably go with Lubbock. But only due to the large college influence.

I live in Midland and I cant really decide between Abilene and San Angelo.I hope to leave Midland for a mid-sized Texas city and then later Arizona and New Mexico when I graduate college in 2 to 3 years.I'm originally from North Texas.I like San Angelo better but my mom thinks Abilene would be better for me. I like San Angelo better because of water recreation. If I ever move back to Midland/Odessa area, I would live in Midland mainly because Midland Lee is important to me and thats where my family is. I may not get to leave Midland because of the oil industry.

There's more to the oil industry than just Midland my friend. Trust me.

If I HAD to live in any of these, I would probably go back to Midland, but Lubbock or San Angelo would be OK as well.

Amarillo might be under consideration as well, but primarily because it seems to be a tad cooler in the summer than any of the others. It also usually has a real winter most years, unless I'm mistaken.

By the same token, I'd dread Midland again because of the heat. It gets SO hot!!
