Licensed truck drivers? Walmart is having a job fair to hire drivers. Job fair is in Desoto, south side of Dallas, but you can apply on-line. Advertised salaries in the $70s with full benefits.

If interested, check out theWalmart job site. Not connected with the company, just listening to the ad.

Walmart requires a minimum of 2 years experience for all CDL drivers. Most companies do but some will make an exception based on need and lack of drivers. Walmart is a stickler for 2 yrs behind the wheel.

Just wanted to mention that before someone runs off and gets their CDL tomorrow.

Well, if you run off and get your CDL tomorrow, someone WILL hire you the day after, just maybe not Walmart....

That's for sure. Just a short cruise out on our roads provides all the evidence you need of the inexperience (or maybe just plain ignorance or perhaps both) of some truck drivers out there on the roads.

Although to be fair, having to drive in the hordes of so many stupid, p*ss poor drivers on the roads these days, it very well might be belligerence rather than inexperience, but that still defines as ignorance.

Whatever, it gives you the shudders.

Where in Desoto is the job fair and what time. I have looked all over the Walmart website and cannot find. Do you have a link to the information?

This is a general straight across the board rule...mostly for insurance reasons.

Now with that said, some companies will over look it and hire new CDL drivers. Werner and Prime come to mind. The oilfield is another one.

I work with several material supply companies (rock, gravel, sand, etc) and they have mentioned how inexperienced the current drivers are. They do not hire the drivers themselves, ofc, so they have little control over them once they leave their property. Some funny stories, though, of very confused drivers.

Well, ND and TX can't get enough drivers for the oil fields, not sure about other places.
