https://www.change.org/p/texas-state...license-plate?

Who would want to have only 1 license plate on the rear of all their cars? Would any of y'all want that? If so, it needs to be brought up before the legislature!

What are your opinions for and against making Texas a 1-license plate state?

I would love this!

Although lately, I have noticed more drivers, especially those with luxury or sports vehicles, placing their front license plate on their dashboard. Does anybody know if this fulfills the front facing license plate requirement, or does this just give an officer a reason to pull you over?

I'm all for it! No unsightly plate messing up the looks of the front of the car? Awesome! Why would anyone WANT a front plate?

FWIW, I bought my (now old but not classic) car in Texas so had 2 plates...moved to NC which is/was a 1 plate state which was awesome!!! I'm now back in Texas and would not be disappointed at all to lose the front plate again.

I had one plate in NM, and liked it better than having two plates.

It'd be fine with me if they went this route.

completely agree. 1 plate all the way! it messes up the look of most cars. especially if you drive a luxury car or sports car.

Because I am no uglying up my nice car by putting a crappy looking license plate on it.

The back should suffice.

Would you to. I have never understood states wanting a front plate too. More than the added intrusion it deprives folks of an ability to show loyalty to a team or cause on.

Can we get rid of the car inspections too?

So true. When I was younger Texas had a beautiful base license plate with a cowboy, space shuttle, and oil derrick on it. Now that I have moved to Texas it has this plate that is so plain and ugly it might as well be from some European nation.

If he's behind you how would he know? Not advocating people breaking the law, but this just points out how pointless the front license plate it.

I doubt it happens, now that license plate scanners are a tool used by law enforcement here. I'm sure they find it useful to be able to scan vehicles from the front and back.
