Hello
My husband has just been offered a new job in Midland Tx. my sons are currently in private non parochial elementary school in suburban Houston. I am anxious about the move to midland as we are very happy with our house, community and school here but it's a job offer with a good jump in compensation. What are your thoughts on good elementary schools (private non parochial and public) as well as good neighborhoods in midland - our housing budget is in the range of 500k. Thank you in advance for your input!

With your budget in mind you can pretty much afford most of the best neighborhoods to live in. That being said you'll want to look at Woodland Park, Saddle Club South, Polo Park, Greathouse, and Green Tree in the North side of town, and Grasslands on the West. The public schools that serve these neighborhoods are the better schools in the district. There aren't really any non-parochial private schools in Midland, though those schools offer some of the better educational opportunities.
