Channel 8 in DFW covered a new Carvana vending machine for cars recently opened in Austin. The story mentioned they is one in SF and now Austin. Great story but Houston has had one before Austin yet of course no mention of it lol. Why? Jealousy?

Carvana is an internet based car buying experience. You can buy fully online and have the car delivered to your home or in their latest idea, you get a coin to put in a car vending machine which sends your car down an elevator in a high glass tower with cars on each floor. The vending machine delivery is a recent addition to their base concept which was to deliver a car to you if you lived within 100 miles of the 8 or so cities they established as hub cities for delivery.

I lived in Houston a long time and now Plano. I don't recall noticing any ignoring of Dallas like this while in Houston. In fact daily news in Houston on TV mentions the Dallas temperature etc. Its rarely done in Dallas unless Houston is flooding.....if I didn't know better I would think their is jealousy or something going on here...

One in San Francisco..? The first was in Nashville. The second was built in Houston. The one in Austin appears to be the third of their coin operated vehicle vending machines.

They're building one in San Antonio near Top Golf by The RIM. Already shows up on Google Maps.

I agree, I searched it for a car I was considering and found they did not have the car. So limited inventory means limited market opportunity hope they grow and succeed.

They're going to mention Austin because Austin is known as the "startup" city and always has crazy ideas coming out of it, so it's a much better story than the Houston one

I'm sorry, but the lions share of the people who care about the alleged Dallas-Houston rivalry seem to come from Houston.

Yes but the overly insecure city in Texas is hands down Austin. It's feud with Houston is so childish. Houston has 3/4 of what Austin has it's just spread out and doesn't have that trendy kitschy element to it. I'm always surprised to find stuff in Houston I assumed only Austin had but it's cus Houston doesn't make a big deal out of things
