^^^Nice. Self-seeded or did you help it along?

And what’s your doggie looking at? Rattlesnake?

100% self seeded. I think they liked the winter freeze.

She's just lookin'. Haven't seen a rattlesnake in 3-4 years. Got a few rat snakes, and a bunch of water snakes. Pretty rare to see a venomous snake, maybe 2-3 in all our years. Not sure why not, but works for me!

We drove from the Austin area out to Fredericksburg last week and saw very few Bluebonnets.... just small scattered patches.
Even the wildflower farms didn’t have anything blooming at all in the fields surrounding it.

Had some good Schnitzel & beer at the Auslander though...

Agreed, I think the Feb freeze befitted lots of plants (probably only good thing that came out of that fiasco); my lilies are having their best year yet. (Japanese blueberry tree completely dead, tho.)

I think we are past prime bluebonnet bloom season. I made the drive from Houston to Austin a few weeks ago via I-10 and 71 and noticed prolific blooms off the freeways. Wanted to go via Brenham to view the bluebonnets but it was raining at the time over there.

Schnitzel and beer looks good. I’d add some pickled red cabbage.

Bluebonnets are still in force around Brenham, but in many place now being hidden by adjacent growing grasses.

On our place out toward Shelby it was pretty much peak this past weekend. Our pastures are usually a week or two later than others in the area, however. We are also bluebonnet-heavy, with little paintbrush. Other flowers are scattered about. Some areas seem to have a concentration of winecups.

Plenty of bluebonnets and poppies in Fredericksburg and Enchanted Rock / Willow City loop as of 16 April 2021. If continued cool weather. (As currently predicted).. I expect they'll stick around until 1 May (Willow City VFD fundraiser). Still early at Wildseed farm. Lots of poppies.

Drove to the Antique Rose Emporium two weeks ago. There was a large patch of bluebonnets on the road, and about 20 cars stopped on the side of the road to take pictures!

But I can’t find geraniums anywhere! I’m trying to create a mini version of Monet’s Garden!

I live about a mile from there. I know that exact spot.

Here's a pic of the Texas Trifecta... Bluebonnets, Indian Paintbrushes and Buttercups...
