Suburbs and cities are becoming more blue. Heavily Hispanic rural areas are becoming more red.

Itll slowly creep to the left but it wont be any kind of blue wave.

I think you maybe right. Question will be which moves faster ... Cities have been blue but is it a bigger shift in the Hispanic areas.

Well not quite.

It is a bigger shift in those areas on a percentage level, but on a state level its more of a shift blue. Its only because there are way more people in the suburbs of DFW, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio than in the Valley or Laredo or the Panhandle.

The Democrats very foolishly have tried to pretend the Latin vote is theirs and they need to wake up if they dont want to do more damage to themselves.

The Republicans did the same with the suburban vote and they are learning the hard way too.

But Ill give the Republicans this: they are WAYYY better at pivoting. We (the Democrats) put ourselves through purity test after purity test to the point no one passes and we end up eating our own. The GOP doesnt do that.

The smartest Texans have opted out of politics (poly-ticks), and risen above and beyond its childish nonsense.

It's not even one party against the other. [Sure, they love that, as it takes our attention off what's really going on] It's both parties against all of us. Behind the scenes, those on both sides are buddy buddy, enjoying the same overpaid, privileged and isolated lifestyle in their own world that's unlike the rest of us. Some day people will wake up to that, and put heat on both sides (as partners in crime), where they'll actually feel pressure to change their ways.

Republicans absolutely eat their own. Look at how Liz Cheney was treated. Even Kristi Noem was widely criticized for not signing the transgender sports bill.

Short-term memories. Look at Republican Primary Debates four years ago, EAT, EAT, EAT.

Liberals seem to put Conservatives through their purity test more so than their own. Take for instance, the latest with President Biden's son Hunter who's emails are showing how often he used the N-word. Yeah, most Liberals have not heard of this because the like minded media is shielding the public from the truth.

Now, what do you think would happen if it was discovered that one of President Trump's son's emails were exposed where they used the N-Word numerous times? Do you think you'd of heard of it by now? Would the media sweep it under the rug and be quiet about it?

Those were rhetorical questions, no need to reply to them. But I can almost guarantee that most of you are honest than you let on to, and you know they sure as hell would not yield in their reporting. You don't need to say it, the double standards and heights of hypocrisy are there for the world to see.

Also, you are right about people eating their own... all the recent firings of people who said "offensive" things in their teens. When will this end, to what degree? I suppose any of us here who dared laugh at any of the episodes of 'In Living Color' should be fired/cancelled. I liked Wanda myself, and Homey D. Clown. Can those shows air these days?

I personally have to wonder if the increased Republican vote in heavily Hispanic areas had something to do with fear that Democrats would weaken the oil and gas industry, which employs a large number of rural Hispanics, not least in South Texas.

I think that’s a big part of it. Vice did an interview a week or 2 ago on the border and that was brought up along with immigration.
