Thanks.. for the pictures. I loved the city when I was back there a few years ago, but it was fithly, and bums and druggies had taking over the beaches. Looks like its much cleaner. I remember trash and broken glass all over the beaches. Looks like its much better now, may have to revisit the area again.

We went to several beaches and did not see any problems.

We noticed there was a lot of construction and new development of cottage-style homes on and around the beach at the undeveloped west end of the island.

The only negative we saw about Galveston was that the drive in (along 61st St, Seawall Blvd) could stand to be made more scenic. Other than that, everything was great!
