I know H-Town (713 represent) has a big important scene with Geto Boys Chamillionaire Master P etc.

What other areas and artists are there? Especially Houston?

Master P is New Orleans. Nothing in Texas comes close to Houston, though after Houston, I'd say Dallas comes next. I dislike most of their rap though (Big Tuck, Tum Tum, Fat Bastard, etc.). They're making a lot of dance records like Atlanta.

Respect other types of music. I hear talk like this from a lot of rock-n-roll people. "Rap is crap!!" So dumb.

rap is a subset of hip hop therefore texas hip hop exists.

somebody failed number theory.

in all seriousness, TX is one of the biggest states for rap right now, after Georgia prolly.

Houston, Atlanta, & New Orleans all have the largest Hip Hop/Rap scenes in the South.

Atlanta & New Orleans are probably the most well known.

Houston's has always been more "underground" & kept at a local level until just recently.

im aware of the chopped and screwed movement, its more a regional thing, i live in texas, and all that chpping and screwing never reall hit over here, local artist here, underground artist, tend to be more "lyrical" that houston rappers. Im glad that texas got its shine a couple of years ago, but me myself have always been an east coast hip hop fan, so in texas nobody really brings it lyrically like say nas [illmatic] mos def, talib, ***** [reasonable doubt] i guess you gotta be sippin syzurrp to enjoy chopped and screwed music!
