Among the more surprising findings: 37 percent of those surveyed have never moved from their hometowns.

That seems like a pretty high percentage for this day and age....

I'll have to read that later as it is late here.

I seem to recall a statistic- maybe it's in that report- that around half of the population of the US live within fifty miles of where they were born.

If it were true I don't know if that is a good or a bad thing.

as my email signature says....

Every Texan that has dared to cross the state line in his or her lifetime has returned disappointed and confused. The fact of the matter is there is no other state worth living in, or even traveling to, than the great State of Texas. So why would a Texan ever leave the state?

Count me as one that will be happy to cross the state line and never look back.

But you know what I find weird about that study?

A lot, and I mean A LOT, of the people I talk to were not born in Texas. Weird.

Perhaps they were born in Oklahoma because right now, there is an infestation of Texas vehicles perpetrating the state right now. I work on cars from Texas everyday and some of the customers tell my service adviser, who tell me to make sure to check everything as I work on the car, because they are taking a vacation to Dallas, or Houston, etc and coming back to Oklahoma.

Doesn't bother me though because it is refreshing to see those plates with the spaceship on the upper left, the crescent moon on the upper right, the man riding the horse towards the bottom center, and the shape of Texas towards the center of the plates.
