Negative,no federal funds were taken other than what was owed to Texas. Considering that Texas puts out more tax to the Federal Government than it gets in so they owe that to Texas anyway.

What the facts show is that the Electoral College is not that perfect compared to a vote by the people themselves.

This has to be a joke.

Here's the fact: Lincoln got the majority of votes in the electoral college, and THAT is why he won. Never in the history of Constitutional America has the popular vote EVER decided who was to be president. It has ALWAYS been decided by the Electoral College.

Therefore, this statement

Quote:
Forty percent is not a "majority" of the available votes at all...Lincoln won because he received more votes than any other candidate, not because the "vast majority" of Americans voted for him.
is untrue. Lincoln won because he won a MAJORITY of ELECTORAL VOTES. 180 out of 303 IS A MAJORITY.

The popular vote of the nation as a whole is MEANINGLESS. If it meant ANYTHING, Bush would not have been elected in 2000.

But go ahead and say that the Electoral College is imperfect. You do realize that the Electoral College is part of the CONSTITUTION, and it was put there to uphold STATES' RIGHTS.

And then, there was this gem as well:

And by the way, I'm not socialist. Far from it.

That is, unless not supporting secession makes someone a socialist.

You can live in your own little dream world but it will still come out only 40% no matter what. If you check around you find out that the Electoral College is not that popular and in history it was not that popular then as well.We are not even talking about electoral votes when this was put out just what the actual votes would have been.
You are only a Socialist if you believe in what Barack Hussein Obama Is doing.

Now let us get back to Secession.

"We hate the government blah blah blah, but hey, can you help us build this freeway/mass transit/help us during national disasters?? Please????"

You kinda just answered your own post, Didn't you ?

Texas does not need federal money, However, It would be dumb to not accept what's handed out for the time being.
